She’s currently 28 and her name is Tao Okamoto. She comes from the country where the fashion industry is growing by the minute, and she just took a break from the runway to be the next breaking-through Hollywood personality.
Taking risks is clearly not a problem for this Japanese beauty. She started her modeling career when she was 14 and after moving to Europe she has walked for several recognized fashion houses such as Alexander Wang, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu and D&G. Her next step was to move to NYC to show the world a renovated beauty trend marked by edgy haircuts, and exotic looks. Because of her beautiful Asian features, she caught the special attention from different designers by taking the main lead of several fashion ad campaigns.
Her latest achievement was the debut at the film industry, starring as the female lead Mariko Yashida, opposite to Hugh Jackman in ‘The Wolverine’. Her performance is absolutely impeccable and if I may criticize, the movie is incredibly entertaining. The production is just amazing, and as a fun fashion fact, all the jewelry used at the movie is the latest line designed by Cartier.
